oxicology:Acute oral LD50 for mouse 100mg/Kg; acute percutaneous LD50 for rat 5000mg/Kgmouse1760mg/Kg; acute intraperitoneal LD50 for mouse 150mg/Kg. LC50 for carp (48hr)180ppm, water flea >40ppm. Non-toxic to bees at normal dosage.
Application:
Broad-spectrum plant growth regulator. It is used to stimulate rooting of cuttings of herbaceous and woody ornamentals, also used to increase fruit set.

3-Indolebutyric acid is soluble in organic solvents such as acetone, ether and ethanol, and is insoluble in water. It is mainly used for rooting of cuttings, which can induce the formation of root protoplasts, promote cell differentiation and division, facilitate the formation of new roots and the differentiation of vascular bundle system, and promote the formation of adventitious roots.
Widely used in the cutting of roots of trees and flowers: apple, peach, pear, citrus, grape, kiwi, strawberry, poinsettia, carnation, chrysanthemum, rose, magnolia, rhododendron, tea, metasequoia, poplar, etc.
